Dual Degree Programs

The dual degree program prepares students for leading positions in international business, public administration and research. It covers advanced economics, finance, management, and quantitative methods according to high international standards.

Most participants start at Higher School of Economics (HSE) in Moscow, where they study for the first year. Some come from Urals Federal University (UFU) in Yekaterinburg or other partners. Then students spend two semesters in Berlin, where teaching is in English (and optionally in German). Participants need a good knowledge of English and a good background in mathematics right from the beginning. The program should be finished, including examination and internship, in four or five semesters.

Degrees. On successful completion students are awarded the degree MSc in Economics and Management Science (MEMS) from Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin. In addition, they obtain the Master’s Degree from the Higher School of Economics according to their specialization.

Admission. Participants have to be accepted into a master program at Higher School of Economics in Moscow and into MEMS at Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin. As the study is demanding, only candidates with an outstanding academic potential will be admitted. Application deadline for MEMS is March 31.

Finance. Tuition is free in both institutions. Compared to other big cities the cost of living in Berlin are low. A reasonable estimate is 600-700 € per month. We assist accepted students to obtain third party support for their study period in Berlin. In the past students have received scholarships by European Union, DAAD, Ford Foundation, and others.

Events. We assist in networking among exchange students and keep in touch with alumni through regular events in Moscow and in Berlin. [more]
